Feels like Fall..

Wow, it sure feels like Fall in Michigan today. I  made 16 of these cards to share at a swap last night. Thought I would share with you too!  The images may look familiar because they are from a set I used in an earlier post here.  This Falling Leaves set  is perfect for the rich colors of fall.
Cutting for this card is quick.Very Vanilla: one 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" pc. (for card) and one 1 3/4" x 5 1/2" pc. Early Espressso  one 2 1/4" x 5 1/2" pc. The rest  is done with punches. How easy is that!
I absolutely love tone on tone. But I also love texture. Get the best of both worlds on the 1 3/4" x 5 1/2" Very Vanilla piece with the Big Shot and Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. Punch one long edge of the Early Espresso piece using the Scallop Trim Border punch. Adhere your textured Vanila piece.
Now the faux bow. Place adhesive on the back & before placing on card front: Place a 6 1/2" piece of  Pumpkin Pie 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon in center and wrap ends around to the back and now adhere to card front. Slide a small piece under, tie and trim. Much easier than a real bow.

For the leaves, stamp each one on scraps and punch out using the 1 1/4" square punch. Tip: use your punch upside down.  I used the following Classic Ink Pads: Daffodil Delight , Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke. Layer each on a square punched from Early Espresso scraps using the 1 3/8" Square Punch. Place them on card front with dimensionals. Tip: if you place one on top and one on bottom, it will straddle the ribbon.

Stamp a sentiment that fits in the Modern Label Punch in Early Espresso & punch out. I used one from  the Three Little Words Stamp Set, but there are lots to choose from. Layer on an Early Espresso piece punched with the Modern Label punch. The cute little acorn is punched out with the 1/2" circle punch. For the finishing touch; stamp a leaf in Pumpkin Pie, cut out and adhere with a dimensional. By the way, I am no longer in denial..... I was comforted last night when discovering that there are others out there with the same addiction for dimensionals!!

Stamp Sets: Three Little Words #11325, Falling Leaves  #115368. Card Stock: Very Vanilla #101650 and Early Espresso #119686. Classic Ink Pads: Daffodil Delight #119667, Cherry Cobbler #119669, Always Artichoke #105219 and Early Espresso #119670  Punches: Scallop Trim Border #118402, 1 1/4" Square # 119865, 1 3/8" Square #119877, Word Window #119857, Modern Label #119849 and 1/2" circle #119869 Embossing Folder: Perfect Polka Dots #117335. Ribbon: Pumpkin Pie 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon #11925. Dimensionals #104430.
Enjoy and add a little color to your day.

Graveyard Gala

My last few posts have been news flashes: the new Mini Holiday Catalog, promotions and my events. So, I thought I'd give you a break from all that with a card. A Halloween card at that, in case you were disappointed when I didn't post one earlier.  I designed this card for a shoe box swap that I recently participated in.

I stamped the tomb stone twice and cut out the skull with wings from one, so that I could adhere it with a dimensional. If you're thinking "I hate to cut things out" chances are you're not using Stampin' Up!'s paper snips #103579. They make a world of difference! You may find yourself adding dimension more often.

It is difficult to tell, but the crow is also adhered with a dimensional. I must confess...  I am beginning to wonder if my fondness for this seemingly harmless, little accessory could possibly be considered an addiction.  I am so thankful that they come in packages of 300!

Graveyard Gala Stamp Set ( #115458)  The tomb stone  comes with the invitation information in the center. Before mounting it, I cut out the center so I could  stamp something else inside or leave the center empty.

For this card, I used a stamp from the Grateful Greeting set (#116511). The sentiment on the bottom is from that set also.

Accessories:
Basic Black Classic Ink # 101179
Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder #117335
1/4" Black Grograin Ribbon #109027
Pumpkin Pie Brad-Brights Collection #119740
1 1/4" Circle Punch #119861
1 3/8" Circle Punch #119860
Scallop Border Punch #119882
Piercing Tool #116631
Dimensionals #104430

Wish BIG now!

This picture just doesn't do the Concord Crush card stock justice. It's gorgeous and the Daffodil Delight designer paper simply makes it Pop!  The flowers are from the Punched Posies stamp set and the wish BIG stamp is from the Word Play stamp set. The best part is that you can use scraps for all the stamping because after stamping you punch them all out
Of course you have to add bling! In addition to the glitter on the star, each flower has a Rhinestone Jewel in the center. I was so excited to see these in the new catalog. You get 150 Rhinestones , 50 of 3 different sizes (#119246 $4.95) They are on a card with a glue dot on them already. Tip: Complete each element for card front completely, rhinestones, glitter, etc. before placing on card front. I placed all the flowers and sentiment on the card front using dimensionals.  Tip: Place the dimensional on each but do not remove paper exposing adhesive on second side. Place them all on card front where you want them then remove the paper from the dimensional and adhere one at a time.

Accessories: Concord Crush Classic Ink and Marker, Daffodil Delight Marker and Brad, Rhinestone Brads, Way Glue Pen, Dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds and Daffodil Delight Designer Paper from Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack (#117155).
Punches: 1 3/4" Scallop Circle (#119854), new 2 3/8" Scallop Circle (#118874), Fancy Flower (#118073), 5-Petal Flower (#119880), 1" Circle (#119868), Scallop Edge Border (#119882) and 1 3/4" Circle (#119850)

To cute for words....

This little guy is just to cute for words. He is one of the 28 stamps from the new "Every Little Bit" set in the 2010/2011 Idea Book and Catalog.
Use any one of the 28 stamps in this set using the layout from the card below and have a card for almost any occasion.
He is so cute with his little rosie cheeks and dazzling wings that I had to put 4 of them on one card. Begin by stamping him on scraps of Whisper White card stock. Now add some color using the gorgeous new Daffodil Delight marker and gave him rosie cheeks using the Pretty in Pink one. Then punch each one out using the Scallop Square punch. Adhere the four punched bees on a 3 1/4" square of Daffodil Delight card stock. Layer that on a 3 1/2" square piece of Basic Black card stock. Pierce a hole in the center using the piercing tool and insert a black brad.

Fold a 10 1/2" x 8"  Whisper White card in half and stamp sentiment on the outside and inside. The stamps from the "Just Buzzing By" set was perfect for this card. The inside is stamped "have a honey of a day". Adhere back of card to a Basic Black 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card base.  Place a dimensional on the back of layered piece at each corner and adhere to card front. My favorite part: using the two-way glue, add Dazzling Diamonds to his wings. Oh, and don't forget to stamp and color a coordinating envelope.

Here's hoping you have a honey of a day!!
